Old Hickory Credit Union is proud to announce the celebration of our 90th year anniversary in 2024. From our humble beginnings in 1934 to today, we have strived to stay dedicated to our mission of “Making a Positive Difference in Our Neighbors Lives” by always putting our members first in everything we do.
The credit union was formed in January 1934 by a group of employees at the DuPont plant in Old Hickory following the Great Depression. Employees were suffering from garnishments, so a committee was formed to investigate the best option available to assist employees. A credit union was that solution. Since that time, the credit union has been a stable influence in the lives of its members and has grown from the initial 250 members to a membership of 22,000 today. We serve people who live, work, or worship in Davidson, Robertson, Sumner, and Wilson counties, as well as the zip codes of Smyrna and LaVergne.
OHCU is a full service financial organization offering savings, checking, and all types of loans including first and second mortgages. The credit union is governed by state and federal rules and regulations. It is federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). A volunteer Board of Directors set the policies for the operation of the credit union.
Currently, Old Hickory Credit Union has seven (7) branches located in the counties listed above, serviced by 79 full-time employees. A new branch is being built on Conference Drive in Goodlettsville that will serve the members that have gone to the Rivergate Parkway location since 1984. That location will close when the Conference Drive building is completed, but an ATM will be available there until the building is sold.
